Project Information

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, has initiated a PD&E study along U.S. 41 (S.R. 45) from Enterprise Drive to Sumter Boulevard in preparation for further improvements along this corridor. Included in the study will be consideration of left, right and center alternatives for a six (6) lane rural/suburban/urban mainline roadway and widening of major crossroads up to 300 feet in each direction where necessary to provide intersection operations.

This study will identify and evaluate all viable alternatives and alignments for widening on the existing roadway corridor. In addition, safety features will also be examined.

As a result of the rapid urbanization along this corridor, the study will also include the evaluation of non-motorized transportation needs in this developing area, including existing and proposed trails along with any other appropriate facilities to accommodate walking and bicycling.
